THE CONCEPT
REPURPOSING MASTERPLAN
The Bubali Sport Club masterplan consists of a state-of-the-art and Aruba’s only Fifa-certified football field, A state-of-the-art junior baseball field spearheaded by former MLB star Sidney Ponson, a 7x7 turf soccer field and 8 beach tennis courts. The football field is the centerpiece of the masterplan and will host all matches in Aruba’s highest leagues as well as serve as the training facilities for Bubali Sport Club’s home team. The baseball field will also become Aruba’s leading baseball academy, promoting growth and development for future professional Aruban baseball players under the tutelage of a former major league professional. The turf soccer field will be a practice area for the home team as well as others in need of extra footballing space. The beach tennis courts will occupy a formerly unoccupied area, thus filling every space in the Bubali Sport Club masterplan, while introducing yet more high-quality sporting facilities.

Aruba has a talent pool that has been under-utilized for many reasons, especially due to the reduced access to adequate facilities and instruction. To fund these investments and activities, we have chosen a for-profit business model. Many foundations and non-profits have been, even with noble goals and intentions, unable to successfully create sporting facilities that are up to acceptable international standards. We believe that incentivization through profit is the best way to encourage continuous development in sporting facilities. Monies earned should be reinvested into maintaining and improving existing facilities such that they are continuously evolving and always attracting new people while retaining current users. So, maintaining affordable rates and encouraging individuals across all ages is tentative to the long-term success of this project.

A.J. Ventures will be involved with establishing and operating various food and beverage service points. The responsibilities involve sourcing and setting up the various kitchens and the central bars. The first F&B locations will be surrounding the courts. These locations are focused on providing quick, affordable easy to eat foods with minimal waste. The locations will cater not only to the players but will also be open for the public, thus increasing the opportunities for potential new players. Additionally, the front of the clubhouse will be the host of Aruba’s finest domino club. Neglected for many years, domino has remained hugely popular on the island even without established playing areas. AJ Ventures will develop the area to create a suitable and up to par space to host weekly domino league play as well as bimonthly tournaments. Within the clubhouse will be the Pallet Bar, the crown jewel of AJ ventures. Focusing on a wide assortment of spirits, this area will be different from the bars in the neighborhood and will focus on education for quality spirits over mass consumption of inferior drinks. Outside the clubhouse there will be the arena bar will be located at the entrance of the arena, allowing for broad match play viewing from its ample seating area. Catering to the entire arena, the vast arena bar will have space to cater for large events and tournaments as well as the daily gameplay.
